Donald M. Baus

 

Donald M. Baus, 75, husband of Ruth (Schlegel) Baus, of Reading, passed away at home on Saturday, May 7, 2022.

Born in Pottstown, Donald was the son of the late Morris W. Baus and Fern (Schaffer) Baus.

Donnie proudly served his country in the U.S. Army (1st Cavalry Division) during the Vietnam Era, serving in the Korean demilitarized zone. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and flying R.C. planes. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, who could always count on him to lighten their spirits with a good joke and funny stories.

Surviving in addition to his wife is his daughter, Donna Baus, companion of Shanon Derr, his son, Steven Baus, husband of Kelly Kindig, and his daughter, Nicole, wife of Thomas Mock, as well as his grandson, Eric Mock, and granddogs, Wesley and Maple. Donald is also survived by two brothers, Kenneth Baus, husband of Diane, and Larry Baus, husband of Christine.

He was predeceased by one brother, Thomas Baus.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday, May 13, 2022, from 9:30AM to 10:30AM at Morrell Funeral Home 124 W. Philadelphia Ave Boyertown, PA 19512. A service will follow immediately at 10:30AM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Cancer Society or the veteranโ€™s organization of your choice.

  1. I send my heartfelt sympathy to Donnieโ€™s family and friends. I remember him as a kind, thoughtful young man. I saw a lot of Fern, Morris and the boys when I was married to Donald Shaffer. I have only fond memories of that time with them. Donnie was wonderful with my kids. He and I were close in age and he was easy and fun to talk to.
    May God comfort all of you in your time of sorrow.

  3. Ruth you have our sincere sympathies during this sad time of your lose . We pray you and your family find comfort in the thought that Donnie is not in anymore pain nor is he suffering . LORD be with you all in heart and mind and know Donnie is sitting at his right knee watching over us

  4. Ruth and family: itโ€™s so very hard when one of our loved ones passes. Donnie and I were cousins and we saw a lot of each other when we were young.
