Allen Lee Berkey, 73, widower of Edna (Eppler) Berkey, formerly of Maryland, and Florida, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Reading Hospital.
Born in Pottstown, Allen was the son of the late Walter H. Berkey and Elizabeth A. (Millard) Berkey Hammell.
Allen attended Boyertown High School and was self employed as a contractor until his retirement in 2014.
Allen is survived by five children, Rose Shabloski, Donald Berkey, husband of Jennifer, Dennis Berkey, husband of Kimberly, Magdalena Reeder, wife of Mark, and Shawn Kelley, wife of Karl; as well as eleven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by five siblings, Thomas Berkey, husband of Lynda; Ray Berkey; Joan Noll; Carol Schaeffer, wife of William; and Elizabeth Levan, wife of Kenneth.
In addition to his parents, and wife of forty-two years, Allen is predeceased by one brother, Walter Berkey.
Services will be private at the request of the family.
