Evelyn S. Taylor

Evelyn S. (Eddinger) Taylor, 84, widow of Eugene Taylor, passed away at Reading Hospital, on Friday, September 26, 2025.

Born on October 3, 1940,  in New Berlinville, Evelyn was the daughter of Howard Eddinger and Ella (Swavely) Eddinger.

Evelyn was a 1958 graduate of Boyertown High School. Early in life she worked at Frosty Peak Ice Cream Parlor where she met her husband. She later worked at Berks-Mont Newspaper for over thirty years, until her retirement. 

Evelyn was a member of Good Shepherd UCC in Boyertown. She was an avid sports fan, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

Evelyn is survived by one son, Edward E. Taylor, husband of Kim, and one daughter, Elaine K. (Taylor) Hintenach, wife of Mike. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Kyle E. Taylor, Morgan H. Taylor, Mackenzie T. Hintenach, and Dylan R. Hintenach, as well as one sister in law, Millie.

Evelyn is predeceased by two sisters, Esther, and Kathy; as well as two brothers, Linwood, and Carl.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 6:30PM to 8:30PM at Morrell Funeral Home 124 W. Philadelphia Ave., Boyertown, PA 19512. There will be a funeral service on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 11AM at Good Shepherd UCC 35 W. Philadelphia Ave., Boyertown, PA 19512. A viewing will precede at 10AM.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Evelyn’s name to either Good Shepherd UCC Memorial Fund at the address above, or to Oley Fair Association PO Box 55 Oley, PA 19547.

  2. Unfortunately I will not be able to be there due to my cancer recovery. I can’t be around groups of people. Sue will definitely be there to represent us.
    Evelyn was a super, sweet woman. She will be greatly missed.

  7. Dear Ed, Elaine & families, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. Her & I share so many memories from teaching Sunday School together , events we attended at the church & Just being friends all these years. She was one of the nicest, sweetest , loving & caring person I ever met. She has left a legacy of special things like kindness, friendship & always being there to lend a hand. Always remember a “MOTHERS” love is forever. She is with you in heart, she is with you in mind, she is with you in memories…..You will still see her smile & her “LOVE” will be with you endlesly. Hold on to all the wonderful memories you & your fqmilies created over the years. They can never be taken from you. My deepest sympathy goes out to all of you.
