Willard S. Kolb, 96, widower of Margaret (Steltz) Kolb, of Frederick, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025, at home, surrounded by his family.
Born in Sassamansville, Willard was the son of the late Benjamin R. Kolb and Florence (Schoenly) Kolb.
Willard was a 1946 graduate of Boyertown High School and worked for Norco Nipple Company until entering the service 1950. Willard served from 1950 until 1952 in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Munich, Germany as a Staff Sergeant and served as a squad leader in the rifle platoon.
After his discharge, Willard worked for Bethlehem Steel Company in Pottstown for a little over twenty-four years, until the plant closed. He later worked as a head custodian at the Pottsgrove Intermediate School for fourteen and a half years until his retirement.
After retiring, he ran a small craft business from his home.
Willard was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Church. He was an avid hunter and the president of The Wide Awake Club, in Tioga County, PA., The Douglass Rod and Gun Club, in Sassamansville, PA, and The Parkerford Baptist Church Dart Club. He was also a life member of Gilbertsville Fire Company and Sassamansville Fire Company. Willard’s greatest joy however was his family, whom he was very proud of.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan Moser, wife of Jeff; and Linda Bush, wife of Dave. Willard is also survived by five grandchildren, Kate Sweinhart, wife of Eric; Rachel Landis, wife of Scott; Josh Moser; Kelsey Speilman, wife of Todd; and Kody Bush, husband of Lauren; as well as ten great grandchildren.
Willard is predeceased by one sister, Beulah Erb.
Services will be private at the request of the family.

Willard was a very loved husband , Dad and grandpop… anytime We look at our wooden shelves- think of all that talent …. Think of him! We are so very sorry to hear of Willard’s passing. I met him when we moved in across the street. Whenever I would see him outside or stop to talk he had a smile on his face. He will truly be missed.
