Kelly Ann Marburger, 60, of Boyertown, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
Born in Reading, Kelly was the daughter of Judith (Querry) Wentzel and the late Harold Marburger.
Kelly attended Boyertown Area High School and continued her education at Berks Vo-Tech (Oley), Maxwell Institute (Norristown) and Pace Institute (Reading). She worked primarily for Harleysville Insurance Company (computer programmer), the Berks County Courthouse (Domestic Relations clerk), Franciscan Health System (Service Desk Manager) and for 21 years served as the head bartender for Bechtelsville Fire Company.
Kelly was a member of the Gabelsville Athletic Association and Bechtelsville Fire Company. Growing up, Kelly loved to roller skate and eventually competed in Ladies Dance and Couples Dance contests winning several trophies for her performances. Kelly played roller hockey for many years and served as the Captain of the women’s Rolling Phantoms team at Pheasantland Roller Drome. The team placed in the finals of the national championship three times. Kelly was a passionate football fan devoted to the Pittsburgh Steelers in addition to Penn State and the Fighting Irish, Notre Dame. When football season ended, Kelly’s passion turned to the Boston Red Sox. Kelly also followed the horses and completed the beloved ‘Triple Crown’. Road trips to support her teams were always memorable and often hilarious. Kelly and her friends made many weekend trips to Long Beach Island. Kelly loved music, dancing and enjoyed going to concerts with friends.
In addition to her mother, Kelly is survived by one sister, Lesa Surman, wife of Michael, and two brothers, Dale Marburger (Patricia) and Scott Marburger (Wendy) as well as step-sister, Tammy Wentzel and step-brother, Timmy Wentzel (Angel). She is also survived by nieces Julie (Paul Simser) Marburger, Jena (Jason) Charlton, Lauren (Allan) Malcolm, Kayleigh Wentzel, Courtney Wentzel and Josie Reinhardt; and nephews Matthew (Ashlin) Surman, Tyler Wentzel, Garett Reinhardt and Callen Marburger. Kelly is also survived by great nieces Fiona Malcolm and Sophie Surman, great nephews Luke and Noah Charlton, and extended family members including aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to Kelly’s father, she is also predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Glenn and Anna (Wood) Querry; and her paternal grandparents, Claude and Elsie (Nester) Marburger.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Legion in Boyertown 100 Walker Dr. Boyertown, PA 19512, to honor Kelly’s support of our veterans.
Kelly will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Please join us for a celebration of Kelly’s life on October 12, 2025 from 12 to 4 at the Boyertown Orioles Banquet Hall.
