William H. Bauer, 86, husband of Ruth (Hartman) Bauer, of Bechtelsville, passed away at home on Sunday, March 23, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Born in Pottstown, PA, William was the son of the late Harvey Bauer and Alice (Briel) Bauer.

William was a 1957 graduate of Boyertown High School. He worked for thirty-five years as a shipping supervisor for Pottstown Pipe Products, then went on to work for Achor Fire Protection for ten years as a fabricator. For the thirteen years following, Bill worked as the cemetery caretaker at New Hanover Lutheran Church in Gilbertsville where he was an active member.

Bill was a member of Pike Township Sportsmen’s Association in Oley. He was also a lifetime member of both Friendship Hook and Ladder Co. in Boyertown, and Gilbertsville Fire Company.

In addition to his wife of sixty-one years, William is also survived by one son, Mark A. Bauer, husband of Lori Ann; and one daughter, Marcia K. (Bauer) Reinhard, wife of Larry. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Hannah M. Reinhard; and Nathan W. Reinhard, husband of Abigail.

William is predeceased by one sister, Joan O’Connor.

Services will be private at the request of the family.
