Deborah S. Economopoulos

Deborah S. Economopoulos

Deborah S. Economopoulos was carried to the Lord on the morning of September 7th after battling cancer for over four years.  Born in Bethesda, Maryland on February 20, 1959, Deborah was the daughter of Robert Dunham and Mildred Irene Short.  She lived in Centerville, Virginia for most of her young life and attended Virginia Tech University where she met her husband of 41 years, Andy Economopoulos. Together they lived in Jackson, Mississippi for four years, and her remaining years in Boyertown, Pennsylvania.

A devoted and loving mother to Jennifer I and R. Nicolas, Deborah brought adventure to the family by planning trips that covered all 50 states.  Activities included camping, visiting historical sites, and old homes.  Both Jennifer and Nick married wonderful spouses – Alex Bardales, and Jackie (Glessner) Economopoulos – and they are raising five of Deb’s grandchildren: Emmie, Sofia, Nora, Morgan, and Jack.

Deborah taught part-time at several of the local colleges: Ursinus College, Albright, Millersville, and Montgomery Community College where she taught the longest.  She loved flowers, landscaping, travel, crocheting for her grandkids, and baking, especially around Christmas.  She attended Trinity EC church of Boyertown, where she was involved in the children’s ministry, and was involved in fellowship groups for over 35 years.  More recently, she attended Providence PCA of Quakertown.

Deborah is survived by her sisters Virginia, who is married to Ron Walzak, and Patrica Short, and her brother Robert D. Short, who is married to Dianna.  Deb loved her many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to join her family for service.  Visitation will be from 10AM to 11AM with a service immediately following at 11AM at Providence PCA, 2200 Krammes Rd, Quakertown on Monday, September 16th, 2024.    Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Boyertown with a luncheon at Keystone Firehouse beginning at 1 PM.  Those who desire may send flowers to the church or deceased’s family or in lieu of flowers you can give a donation to Crossroads Pregnancy Care, 256 Trumbauersville Rd., Quakertown, PA 18951
