Mary Lou Mitchell

Mary Lou (Wanner) Mitchell, 92, widow of W. Jesse Mitchell, of Gilbertsville, passed away at home on Monday, November 13, 2023.

Born in Pottstown, Mary Lou was the daughter of the late Leon Marty Wanner and Dorothy Mae (Reifsnyder) Wanner.

Mary Lou was a 1949 graduate of Pottstown High School. She went on to work as a secretary for Montgomery County Intermediate Unit.

Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Good Shepherd United Church of Christ in Boyertown. She was a member of Melody Maids Chorus Group in Pottstown and Boyertown Area Choral Association.

Mary Lou is survived by her three children: Dianne (Mitchell) Moser, wife of Curtis; Karen (Mitchell) Rohrbach, companion of Rob Binelli; and Kevin Mitchell, companion of Shari McCoy; as well as four grandchildren: Matthew Moser, husband of Danielle; Michael Moser, husband of Rose; Kristie (Moser) Ortiz, wife of Daniel; and Alissa Rohrbach. She is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Freda Wanner; one brother-in-law George Mitchell, husband of Mae; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mary Lou is predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law Betty and Frank Hohl, as well as twin brothers Donald Wanner, Ronald Wanner, and a sister-in-law Isabel Wanner.

Family and friends are invited to viewing on Monday, November 20, 2023, from 9:30AM to 11AM at Morrell Funeral Home 124 W. Philadelphia Ave. Boyertown, PA 19512. A funeral service will follow at 11AM. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
