Charles "Bud" Cattell, III

Charles “Bud” Cattell lll, age 80, went home to be with the Lord on October 20, 2023. Bud grew up in Pottstown, PA and graduated from West Chester University with a degree in Music Education. Prior to that, he graduated from Boyertown Area Senior High School in 1961. He directed choirs and taught music in church, Daniel Boone School District, and finally in Wyomissing School District where he taught Taylor Swift during her elementary years. He even took some students to Italy to sing for the Pope over the Easter Holiday one year. He will be directing a choir in heaven in no time! All his life he enjoyed nothing more than traveling, music, spending time with his loved ones, and a good Whopper from Burger King!

He was preceded in death by his parents Geraldine B. Cattell and C. Russell Cattell Jr. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Cheryl M. Cattell of Breinigsville. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his two children: Kim Flint of Boyertown, and Chris Cattell (fiancé of Chrissy Lakjer) of Boyertown; his three granddaughters Jen Flint (fiancée of Elvis Vroman) of Blandon, Stephanie Goodwin (wife of Steven) of Blandon, and Lauren Keszczyk (wife of Joshua) of King of Prussia; and two  great grandchildren Mason Vroman and Penelope Keszczyk, and  his beloved Yorkshire Terrier Maltese for 17 years, Zoee Marie.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday,  May 19, 2024 at 2PM at New Ridge Fellowship Church 2211 Swam Pike Gilbertsville, PA 19525. The family will greet people from 1:30PM to 2PM.

  1. Hello, Cattell Family, We were sad to hear about Bud’s passing. If we can do anything, let me know. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Marcia & Mike

  2. Dear Cheryl and Family:

We are truly saddened by Bud’s passing. I noticed that you both attended our 60th class reunion and we are again, sad to say we missed getting a chance to talk to both of you. As we worked our way down to your table, you had already left for the evening. Talk about a small world, your son, Chris is engaged to the daughter of my college roommate. Phil Lakjer. We will certainly keep you in prayer for God’s grace and mercy
as you travel through this difficult time. With deepest sympathy to you and your family.

    Terry and Charlene Starr
