Lester C. Weiss

Lester C. Weiss

Lester Carl Weiss March 6, 1943 – March 8, 2023   Lester Weiss, 80, formerly of Bechtelsville, passed away on March 8, after an extended battle with Parkinson’s Disease.  Lester was the son of Henry and Laura Weiss, younger brother of Harold and twin brother to Chester Weiss. Born and raised on the family farm, Lester knew the meaning of hard work, however, whenever not working or attending school, he and Chester would squeeze in some baseball, a beloved sport for both boys. After graduating from Boyertown High School, both Lester and Chester served in the Army for three years.  During that time, Les was stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas and in South Korea. After the Army, Les continued his education at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, NJ., and graduated with a degree in mathematics. Les was an avid reader, with a particular interest in history and the biographies of famous leaders.  He enjoyed travelling to places as far as New Zealand and all around the United States.  He especially loved the beauty of Colorado and the Rocky Mountains and, in 1971, he made Denver, CO, his home.  He enjoyed nature, walking, jogging, biking and, of course, skiing down the slopes of the Rockies. The majority of Les’ career has been in the field of warehousing.  He retired at 70 and soon after began his battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Beside Harold (Delores) and Chester (Joyce), Lester is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Morrell Funeral Home, 124 W. Philadelphia Ave., Boyertown, PA on Saturday, April 1st, with visitation 10:00 to 11:00 followed by a Memorial Service.  Interment will be at the Hill Church Union Cemetery.  All are welcome to a luncheon at the Hill Church St. Joseph’s Lutheran social hall immediately following interment.
