Mary Jean Schantz, age 84, peacefully passed away at her home on December 1. Born October 13, 1938, the only child to Llewelyn and Edith Groff. She was born and raised in Minnesota, and moved to Pennsylvania as a young woman. She became the wife to Roy Schantz in 1965, and they made their home in Bechtelsville. She worked many years at Great American Knitting Mill in Bally. It was there she made a lifelong friend in Sandy Miller. She had 1 daughter Kathleen, wife of Charles Koresko, and four grandchildren: Jason, Matthew, Jonathan and Melissa. She was predeceased by Melissa, the mother to her only great grand-child Braydon. While her family was small, they were the center of her world. She loved them with all her heart, and left a lasting impact on their lives. She was a beautiful person, and will be sadly missed. The family has chosen to gather privately. If you knew her, celebrate her life, and keep her memories close. She will be forever and always in our hearts.
