Howard R. Moser, Jr.

Howard R. Moser, Jr.

Howard R. Moser, Jr., 84, husband of Barbara (Eschbach) Moser, passed at Frederick Living on Thursday, October 20, 2022.

Born in Barto, Howard was the son of the late Howard Moser and Sallie (Renninger) Moser.

Howard was a third-generation dairy farmer on the farm near Niantic, purchased by his grandfather Jonathan around 1890. In 1970 Howard took over the farm when his father Howard retired.  He worked the land for the next twenty-two years until retiring himself due to health concerns. He took pride in the fact that the farm was in the family for over 100 years. Howard later worked part time for Bauman’s Apple Butter, Kulp’s Car Rental, and Agway in Bechtelsville.

He was a faithful member of Calvary UCC in Barto. Howard was also a member of the Montgomery County Farmers Association, Bally Lions Club, and Boyertown Jaycee’s. He was in charge of organizing the annual Halloween parades through Boyertown and Bally and helped to make them the very special events that people looked forward to every year. Howard was also an avid Phillies fan. He also followed the Eagles and Penn State football.

Surviving in addition to his wife of sixty-five years is a son, Glenn A. Moser, husband of Brenda; a daughter, Lori A. Ermold, wife of John; another son, Steven D. Moser, husband of Lori; and another daughter, Angela D. Caswell, wife of Greg. Howard is also survived by eight grandchildren: Bradley S. Moser, Matthew G. Nester, Melissa L. Nester, Alexandra S. Nester, Wesley S. Moser, Maria E. Taylor, Andrew Tallon, and Haille Tallon; as well as three step grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Howard is also survived by one brother, Russell Moser, and one sister, Dorothy Willing.

He was predeceased by four brothers: Leroy R. Moser, Harold R. Moser, Clarence R. Moser, and Richard R. Moser, as well as one sister, Arlene Delp.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 9:30AM to 11AM at Calvary UCC 1231 Route 100 Barto, PA 19504. A memorial service will immediately follow at 11AM.
