Mae A. Zajac

Mae Alma (Rothenberger) Zajac, wife of Henry, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Hershey Medical Center. She was a month shy of her 90th birthday.

Born in East Greenville, Mae was the daughter of the late Harvey and Evena (Bernhard) Rothenberger.
Mae was a 1950 graduate of East Greenville High School.  She worked very hard all of her life in various jobs.  In her early years she worked at the American Olean & Tile Company in Lansdale, PA, and later had her own cleaning business.  Mae put all of her heart into her family.  Everything she did was for them.  Mae prided herself in well-stocked canning shelves and a full freezer filled with vegetables from Henry’s well-cared-for garden. Quilting/sewing gave her great joy and she was so pleased to share projects with her family and friends. She loved to speak Pennsylvania Dutch to those who might understand and she appreciated the beauty of nature, sitting out on her back patio with Henry looking into the woods.  She loved animals – especially her dog and enjoyed classical music and listening to her granddaughter play the piano.  She always made sure her family had whatever they needed.

Surviving in addition to her husband of seventy years is one son, Stephen Zajac, husband of Teresa, and two daughters, Jane Zajac, and Mary McQuinn, wife of Scott, as well as one daughter in law, Elizabeth Yoder. Mae is also survived by five grandchildren: Ryan Zajac, Michael Zajac, Stephanie Zajac, Emma McQuinn and James Yoder, all of whom she was very proud.

Mae is predeceased by one son, Barry Zajac.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 11:30AM to 12:00PM at Most Blessed Sacrament Church 610 Pine St. Bally, PA 19503, followed by a prayer service at 12PM.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Pennsburg.

Morrell Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements. (
