Fay A. Rader

Fay A. (Schwager) Rader, 97, widow of Curtis Rader, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022,  at Chestnut Knoll.

Born in Douglass Township, Fay was the daughter of the late Charles Schwager and Edna (Moyer) Schwager.

Fay worked from 1949 until 1952 as a sewing machine operator at Superior Underwear Mills in Bechtelsville before becoming a fulltime homemaker and raising her family.

Fay was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bechtelsville. She enjoyed music and in her younger years, played the mandolin and banjo. She also enjoyed crocheting, but her greatest joy in life was caring for her family. She deeply loved her grandsons and great grandchildren and was always so happy to spend time with them.

Fay is survived by one daughter; Nadine Lydic, and two grandsons; Kurt Lydic, husband of Jamie, and Jeffrey Lydic. She is also survived by four great granddaughters: Anna, Hailey, Madeline, and Juliana Faye, as well as one great grandson, Jack. Also surviving is one sister, Thelma Stauffer, and two brothers: William Schwager and Ronald Schwager.

Fay is predeceased by three sisters: Arlice Surgeoner, Gloria Smith, and Doris Groff, as well as two brothers: C. Frederick Schwager, and Lee Schwager.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday, June 23, 2022, from 10AM to 11AM at Trinity Lutheran Church 1749 S. Main St. Bechtelsville, PA 19505. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11AM. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

  1. So sorry to hear about your Mom, Nadine! She had a long, family-filled life, but that doesn’t mean you won’t miss her so much . Remember all the good moments you had with her and pass those memories on to grandkids and great-grandkids.
