Lori A. (Eckhart) Flyte, 61, of Lehighton, Franklin Township, passed away Friday afternoon, April 8, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. Born in Palmerton, she was the daughter of Leonard E. and Gloria A. (Green) Eckhart of Lehighton. Lori graduated in 1978 from Lehighton Area High School and went on to marry Barry D. Flyte on July 28, 1979. She was a Dental Assistant at Howland Family Dental in Lehighton for the last seventeen years and previously a daycare aide with her sisters at Small World Day Care Center in Lehighton for twenty-five years. Lori enjoyed her time traveling to tropical locations, baking, and sharing her recipes with family members, riding on the back of Barry’s Harley, and sitting by the pool with her cat, Davidson. She will be most remembered for her dedication to family, friends, and anyone in need of a helping hand. Whether it was caring for a skinned knee at the daycare, bringing meals and groceries to a widowed elderly patient, or spending the extra five minutes to clean the top shelf at the dentist office that no one would see, Lori accepted nothing less than making everyone’s life around her better. Surviving in addition to her widower and parents is her daughter, Brandi Flyte and her husband John-Paul Franzen of Pennsburg; three sisters, Vicky, wife of Paul Kocher, Holly, wife of Steve Klotz, and Nina, wife of Dennis Haldeman, and sisters-in-law, Melodie Eckhart, Linda Pollock and Sharon Fronheiser, all of Lehighton and numerous nieces and nephews, along with their children. She was predeceased by her brother, Dino Eckhart. Family and friends will be received on Friday April 22, 2022, from 1PM to 3PM at Trinity Lutheran Church 175 S. 3rd St Lehighton, PA 18235. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3PM.
Barry and family so very sorry to hear about your loss. I saw Lori at the recent 1976 class reunion, she was always smiling. Her smile and light will be missed, a life too soon taken. My thoughts are with you at this time. Barry, take care.
