Born in Landsdale, Ronnie was the son of the late Garry Cook and Roberta (Kirkwood) Cook.

Ronnie was a 1981 graduate of North Penn High School in Landsdale. Ronnie was certified by the American Gunsmithing Institute for pistol smithing, rifles, shotguns, and .22 rimfire rifles in 2009. Ronnie was a dedicated PopPop, husband, and father, he loved nothing more than being with his grandsons, showing them the outdoors and how to be little country boys. On any given day, Ronnie could always be found with a cold Coors light, a dirty joke, and a grill full of meats after a day of working at the house or on one of his vehicles.
