Barry John Roney, 68, of Boyertown PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Born October 19, 1953, in Hancock, NY, Barry was the son of the late Merle R. and Dorothy M. (McDermott) Roney. He was the husband of Emma L. (Junker) Roney.

Surviving along with his wife are a son, RJ Roney, two sisters, Bertha Schoonmaker and Shirley Bennett, and one brother, Bill Roney. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, his dog Zip, and the “cat” Drac.

He was predeceased by a brother, H. Robert Roney, sister Susan Brooker, Puma the cat, and Buffy the dog.

Barry was a 1971 graduate of Hancock Central H.S. He worked for IEC, PPL for 39 years, retiring in October 2018. Barry enjoyed all things in the outdoors.

Friends and Family will be received on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Morrell Funeral Home, 124 W. Philadelphia Ave, Boyertown PA 19512. A memorial service will follow at 12:30 PM at Morrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Falkner Swamp UCC Cemetery, Swamp Pike, Gilbertsville, PA.

A celebration of life will also be held in Lake Como, PA in the spring of 2022 for friends and family.
