Ruth E. (Eshbach) Diener, 96, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Grandview Hospital. A former resident of Boyertown, she had been at Souderton Mennonite Home for the past three years.

Born in Eshbach, PA, Ruth was the daughter of the late Oswin and Virgin (Minner) Eshbach. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Augustus Diener, who passed on in 2012.

Ruth is survived by a daughter, Gayle, wife of George Whitley, of Lavon, Texas as well as a grandchild, Talu Whitley, of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is also survived by a niece, Elaine Shirk, and three nephews: Glenn Bechtel, Bruce Bechtel, and David Bechtel as well as some cousins.

Ruth was predeceased by her first husband, George Douglas Moyer, as well as a sister, Catherine Bechtel and a brother, Marlin Eshbach.

Ruth had a love of cats. She will be dearly missed by many people.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday, November 12, 2021, from 10AM to 11AM at Morrell Funeral Home 124 West Philadelphia Ave. Boyertown, PA 19512. A funeral service will follow at 11AM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Highland  Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ruth’s memory to the Souderton Mennonite Home Benevolent Fund, 207 W. Summit Street, Souderton, PA 18964.
