Walter K. Dittman

Walter K. Dittman, 99, widower of Josephine S. (Hess) Dittman, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Frederick Living.

Born in Perkiomenville, Walter was the son of the late Gottlieb and Eva (Karow) Dittman.

Walter worked for many years at The Boyertown Casket Company in the maintenance department, eventually as supervisor for that area. He was a very active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sassamansville and served on the church council as well as on the property committee. Walter was a general handyman for anything the church needed.

Surviving are two sons: Kenneth T. Dittman, husband of Roxanne, and Randy W. Dittman, husband of Lori. Walter also is survived by five grandchildren: Mark, Alyssa, Ashley, Katelyn, and Jenna, as well as five great grandchildren: Nathan, Alyssa, Aiden, Austin, and Alaina.

A funeral service will take place on Friday, September 10, 2021, at 11AM at ST. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1809 Hoffmansville Rd Sassamansville PA 19472. A viewing will take place from 10AM to 11AM. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to St. Paul’s Shares of Faith.

  2. Walter was my uncle . I loved him, didn’t get to see him much as I grew up. Last time I saw him was at his and Aunt Josey’s home. I loved his hugs and his laugh. He will be missed. I love my cousins Ken and Randy alot. Sending love to them and their families.
