Karen Trout-Long

Karen L. (Eisenhart) Trout-Long, 51, wife of Donald Long Jr., of Gilbertsville, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Pottstown Hospital.

Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of Gerald L. Eisenhart and the late Dorothy (Snyder) Eisenhart.

Karen was a 1988 graduate of Boyertown Senior High School and was employed by XL Catlin as a paralegal for 26 years.

She was a member of New Hanover Evangelical Lutheran Church and enjoyed crafting and volunteering at work and church activities.  Karen also enjoyed being in the band in high school. She also loved to travel to the Hudson River Valley as well as travelling to the Finger Lakes region of New York and North Central Mountains of Pennsylvania.

Surviving in addition to her husband are one daughter, Jessica Trout; one son, Kyle Trout; one stepdaughter, Julia Long; one brother, Robert Eisenhart, husband of Bonnie; two sisters-in-law, Vanessa (Greg) and Jessica (Ed); mother-in-law, Pat Long and father-in-law, Donald Long, Sr. and one niece, Danielle Longacre.

Relatives and friends will be received on Saturday, August 21, 2021, from 11:00 – 12:30PM with a memorial service to follow at 1:00PM at New Hanover Lutheran Church, 2941 Lutheran Road, Gilbertsville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to New Hanover Lutheran Memorial Fund.

  11. I worked with Karen for a number of years. I always referred to her as the PMK – Person Most Knowledgeable. Even beyond that, she was always ready and willing to help others. I noted the comment above about her laughter, which was indeed, infectious. It will certainly be missed when we do return to the office. My condolences to friends and family.

  16. Jessica and Kyle – I am so sorry to hear about your mother’s passing. I remember when she would come into the office at Gilbertsville Elementary School to pick you up for appointments, etc. She was such a kind and sweet person and always had a smile on her face. She was a wonderful and dedicated mother. I hope you can hold on to all of the memories that you have of her and that you can find comfort in remembering her. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
