Deborah A. Szumachowski-Baechtle

Deborah A. Szumachowski  Baechtle, 68, wife of Mark Baechtle, of Bechtelsville, passed away at home on Sunday, May 23, 2021.

Born in York, PA, Deborah was the daughter of the late Edwin R. Szumachowski and Margaret A. (Metzger) Szumachowski.

Deborah studied at West Chester University and worked as an executive assistant in finance.  She also took dictation for Dr. Kelman and Dr. Brenner.  She was instrumental in getting several of Dr. Brenner’s books published. Her painstaking effort and attention to detail never went unnoticed.  Deborah also loved books and could read all day.

In addition to her husband, Deb is also survived by two brothers, Greg Szumachowski, husband of Lydia and Joe Szumachowski, husband of Karen. She is also survived by three sisters, Susie Noll, wife of Doug, Jeannie Mellon, wife of Rich and Patty Fitzgerold, wife of Andy.

Deborah was predeceased by two nephews, Robert and Michael Szumachowski as well as a sister-in-law, Kathy Szumachowski, wife of Joe.

Services will be private at the request of the family.
