Ora Doris Renninger, 97, a resident of Chestnut Knoll, Boyertown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 14, 2021.

Born in East Coventry, she was the daughter of the late Harry L. and Mary E. (Detwiler) Brownback and wife of the late Stanley L. Renninger.

Doris graduated from Spring City High School in 1942.  Following graduation, she was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad, Philadelphia, PA, in the business department.  Her most rewarding job was caring for her grandchildren and taking part in their many activities.  She enjoyed spending family time at Ocean City, New Jersey and Bethany Beach, Delaware.  She also enjoyed bus trips with family and friends.

Doris was a long time member of New Hanover Evangelical Lutheran Church, Gilbertsville, Pa.

Doris will be missed by her children, Roxanne Hersh and her husband, Terry and Gary Renninger and his wife, Liz.

She is survived by her beloved grandchildren, Megan Rowlett and husband, David, Melanie Bauer and husband, Timothy and Chase Renninger and wife Allyssa, two great-grandchildren, Benjamin Rowlett and Camille Bauer, plus many nieces and nephews.

She joins those who have passed before her, including her husband, Stanley of 68 years, sisters, Grace Berkey, Emma Dunlop, Marian Ritter, Ruth Peterman and brother Harold Brownback.

The family thanks the staff at Chestnut Knoll and Caring Hospice Services for all the loving care they provided for Doris.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11AM at New Hanover Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, 2941 Lutheran Rd. Gilbertsville, PA 19525.

Family and friends are invited to arrive at 10:45 for a few minutes of fellowship prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund, New Hanover Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2941 Lutheran Road, Gilbertsville, PA  19525.
