Mary Dolores Kemp

Mary Dolores Kemp, 91 of Landis Store, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Born in Bally on February 3, 1930, Dolores was the daughter of the late Gertrude (Melcher) and George E. Kemp.  When she was six years old, her family moved to the farm at Landis Store where her father was raised, the farm being in the Kemp family since 1799.

Dolores was the apple of her father’s eye, sometimes feigning sickness from school at Most Blessed Sacrament so she could ride with her father in his meat truck.  She hid behind the driver’s seat when they delivered to the convent!

Dolores graduated high school from Allentown Central Catholic High School and retired from Bally Case and Cooler.

Her favorite past times were bowling, bingo, flea markets, and having lunch at Saville’s Diner.  She always had cats about her feet.  She never missed mass at Most Blessed Sacrament in 91 years until the pandemic.

Dolores is survived by her longtime friend, Frances Haas, and several nieces and nephews.   We will miss her clear blue eyes, friendly smile, old stories and quick wit.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday, April 12, 2021 from 10:30 to 11:00AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 610 Pine Street, Bally, PA.  Burial will be in Most Blessed Sacrament Church Cemetery.

Morrell Funeral Home, Inc., is in charge of arrangements.
