Dorothy Marie (Wagner) Prutzman, 91, Widow of George V. Prutzman, passed away on January 4, 2021.
Born in Pottstown, PA, Dorothy was the daughter of Earle G. and Mary (Dorsam) Wagner and graduated from Pottstown High School. She worked at Mistee Lingerie in Boyertown.
Dorothy was pleased to have been recognized by the Valley Forge Council of the Boy Scouts of America for her 8 years of working as a Den mother and Den Mother Instructor. She continued with her interest in service to others by being an active member of the Boyertown Lioness Club, rising to the post of President, in support of many community projects by the Boyertown Lions Club. She also was a charter member of the Boyertown Exchange Club and served on the Board of Directors as they focused on children’s programs such as Bears for Tots (Teddy bears for sick children), “Give a kid a flag” at the Veterans Day parade, and educational programs at elementary schools. She volunteered for behind the scenes work in support of the Boyertown Ambulance Association as well as numerous fund-raising activities with the Boyertown Lions Club. Dorothy contributed to “A History of Colebrookdale Township” by W. Edmunds Claussen.
Dorothy is survived by 2 sons, David M. Prutzman, husband of Barbara (Lapp), and Steven G. Prutzman, husband of Jane (Moyer). She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Along with her loving husband, she was predeceased by one grandchild.
Services will be private, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family recommends contributions to The George V. and Dorothy M. Prutzman Family Scholarship Fund, administered by The Berks County Community Foundation, 237 Court Street Reading, PA 19601.
