Doris L. (Schwager) Groff, 90, wife of the late John S. Groff Jr., of Boyertown passed away on Friday, February 28, 2020.
Born in Boyertown, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. Schwager and Edna (Moyer) Schwager.
Doris was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bechtelsville.
She was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed caring for her family. Doris helped with Meals on Wheels and the kitchen at the Boyertown Senior Center. She also loved bingo and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren
Doris is survived by two sons: Richard A. Groff, husband of Susan and Michael B. Groff, husband of Susan as well as one daughter: Karen L. Essig, wife of the late Clifford. She was also a loving grandmother to three granddaughters: Kylene, Kaitlyn, and Madelyn and six grandsons: Keith, Brad, Jordan, Jacob, Scott and Jason. In addition to her grandchildren, Doris also had seven great grandchildren: Chase, Remington, Kenneth, Ashley, Alexis, Eva and Katlyn. Doris is also survived by two brothers: Ronald Schwager and William Schwager as well as two sisters: Fay Rader and Thelma Stauffer.
She was predeceased by two sisters: Arlice Surgeoner and Gloria Smith as well as two brothers: Lee Schwager and C. Frederick Schwager.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 11am at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1749 South Main St. Bechetelsville, PA 19505. A viewing will be held from 10am to 11am prior at the church. Burial will be at Hill Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
