Todd A. Barton, 18, of Barto, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.
Born in Pottstown, Todd was the son of Wendy D. (Leister) and James A. Barton of Barto. Todd was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Niantic. Todd was a senior at Boyertown Area High School. He was a member of the cross-country team for four years, where he served as team captain. He participated in the track and field program for two years, served as a lifeguard for the Boyertown YMCA, and worked at Giant Supermarket as a service assistant. In May 2011, Todd received his black belt from Ellixson’s Tae Kwon Do Academy. Todd also played baseball for Boyertown West, Boyertown Midget League and Pine Forge Athletic Assoc.
Surviving in addition to his parents are one brother Alec, paternal grandmother Carol Barton, maternal grandmother Jean Leister, and aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was also predeceased by paternal grandfather Dean Barton, maternal grandmother Judith Leister and maternal grandfather Kenneth Leister.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11AM at New Hanover United Methodist Church, 2211 Swamp Pike, Gilbertsville, PA.
Relatives and friends will be received from 6:30-8:30PM on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at New Hanover United Methodist Church.
