Jan R. Saltzer

Jan R. Saltzer, 72, husband of Barbara Ann (Dotterer) Saltzer, of Boyertown, passed away at home surrounded by his family. 

Born in Pottstown, PA, Jan was the son of the late Harold Saltzer and Asunda (Cimino) Yednock. 

Jan was a 1968 graduate of Pottstown Area High School. He went on to work at Colonial Lift Inc. in King of Prussia as a lift truck road mechanic for 51 years from 1970 until his retirement in 2021. 

Jan was a member of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church in Pottstown. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and racing his RC cars. He also loved watching Indy 500 racing. 

Surviving in addition to his wife of 55 years are two daughters, Angela M. (Saltzer) Gillingham, wife of Robert; and Stacy L. Saltzer, as well as four granddaughters: Erin M. Gillingham, Madison P. Saltzer, Sydney M. Gillingham, and Lily R. Felix, and one grandson, Ashton S. Felix. Jan is also survived by two sisters and two brothers.

    I am so sorry to hear of Jan’s passing. I worked with him from 1980 till he retired, I always enjoyed his humor. I especially enjoyed our breakfasts at McDonalds before work. I wish the best for you and your family

  7. Omg. Jan was my cousin. I had no idea he passed. I’m so sorry to the rest of his loved ones. The years won’t be the same without calling them on their birthdays or seeing Barb shopping @ Redner’s anymore. 😞 I wondered what happened. I’ll miss them both
