Linda Elizabeth Harpel, 76, of Boyertown PA, was called to her Lord on Monday Jan. 24th 2022 after an unexpected and brief stay at Pottstown Hospital.
Linda was born on October 28th, 1945 to William and Evelyn Solomon in Norristown, PA. After graduating from Methacton in 1964, She went on to study Nursing at Sacred Heart Hospital and graduated in 1966 with a nursing license as an LPN.
After graduation, she stayed at Sacred Heart Hospital for her first job as a nurse on the surgical floor from 1966-1969. She continued to work in the health services field with many organizations – Church Home Hospital 69, Sacred Heart 69-71, Grandview Hospital 71-75, Kendell at Long Wood 76-77, Frederick Memorial Hospital 77, Reader’s Nursing Home 77-79, The Commission on Aging 80-87, Vindabona Nursing Home 87-98, and Frederick Mennonite Community 98-08 and retired at age 63.
In 1963, she met George Harpel, and they married in 1969. They went on to have a family with two children, Rachel and Daniel.
When Linda had Daniel and Rachel, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother and still help provide for her family. Linda excelled at propping up her family and mostly anyone she encountered, supporting them through their many passions and difficulties of their lives. Whether that was supporting them enthusiastically in their passions, ventures, and dreams, with emotional empathy. Through difficulties, challenges, or pain they were experiencing. With her love and compassion as her guide, she made it her mission to improve the lives of others every chance she could.
Linda was passionately devoted to her Lord and the church. When she wasn’t filling her home or workplace with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her church in many facets as an example of God’s love and grace.
That passion she had for her Lord was matched by her passion and love for her grand-children, They were the joy of her life for the last 20 years and she showered them with love every opportunity she could – she loved them “to the moon and back forever and ever”.
Her loss was sudden and leaves a void of true love, caring, and compassion. She will be missed greatly by all who met her, knew her, and loved her.
Linda was pre-deceased by her parents, William, and Evelyn Solomon and her two brothers Ronnie and Roland Solomon, and great nephew Ronnie “Ron-Ron” Solomon. She is survived by her husband George, sister Marjorie, daughter Rachel, son Daniel and grand-children Riley, Leah, Zachary, and Julia.
