Arlene M. (Wentzel) Hess, 89, widow of Laverne O. Hess, of Bechtelsville, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Frederick Living.

Born in Gilbertsville, she was the daughter of the late Ida (Moser) Wentzel and Elmer Wentzel.

Arlene was employed by Boyertown Apparel as a seamstress.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church-Sassamansville.  She enjoyed sewing and baking Christmas cookies with her grandchildren.

Surviving are two sons, David L. Hess, husband of Brenda, Mark A. Hess, husband of Missy; one granddaughter, Michele, wife of Joshua Letting; one grandson, Josh and his girlfriend, Danielle Murray; one great-grandson, Lucas; one great-granddaughter, Makayla and one brother, Elmer, husband of Jean.

She was predeceased by one sister, Dorothy and two brothers, Lester and Earl.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1809 Hoffmansville Road, P.O. Box 370, Sassamansville. PA 19472.
