Hilda F. (Renninger) Knauer, 87, wife of Paul Knauer, of Gilbertsville, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Pottstown Hospital.
Born in New Hanover Township, Hilda was the daughter of the late Frederick B. Renninger and Stella H. (Fryer) Renninger.
Hilda was a very loving homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and keeping a beautiful home. Her joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Hilda was a lifetime member of New Hanover Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Paul, is one son, David Knauer, husband of Bonnie; and two grandchildren, Brandon Knauer, husband of Jessica; and Courtney Sundstrom, wife of Jeffrey. Hilda is also survived by three great grandchildren, Gavin, Kenzi, and Liam; as well as three siblings, Lester F. Renninger, Kenneth F. Renninger, and Leona F. Renninger.
Hilda is predeceased by one daughter, Patricia Knauer; twin infant sisters; three sisters, Alice V. Layman, Beulah Houck, Stella Eidle; and three brothers, Lloyd F. Renninger, Frederick F. Renninger, Jr., and Linford F. Renninger.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 10AM to 11AM at New Hanover Evangelical Lutheran Church 2941 Lutheran Rd. Gilbertsville, PA 19525. A funeral service will be held at 11AM. Burial will be in New Hanover Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Hanover Lutheran Church in Hilda’s name at the address above.
Hilda was my mom’s neighbor. As a child I played with her kids Patty and David. We always had fun! My sisters and I have kept in touch with Paul and Hilda when our mom passed. They helped my mom while she was still at home and we appreciated that so much. Hilda May you rest in peace and I’m so happy you are with Patty again. I’m sure there were lots of hugs and crying!
