Margaretta (Hoster) Yanalavage, 87, widow of William John Yanalavage, Sr., of Boyertown, passed away at home on Saturday, February 10, 2024.

Born in Philadelphia, Margaretta was the daughter of the late William Otto Hoster and Teodora Dolores (McAllen) Hoster.

Margaretta was a 1954 graduate of Charles E. Ellis School in Newtown Square. She went on to work at the National Bank of Boyertown, and Gotshall Trucking, before retiring from The Devereux School.

Margaretta was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Pottstown. She was a member of St. Columbkill’s Senior Group, a lifetime member of Boyertown YMCA, and the Boyertown Multi-Service. Margaretta was also a member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution, Cider Mill Riders and Drivers Association, and the Eastern State Penitentiary and Preservation Society where her family has donated artifacts.

Margaretta is survived by one daughter, Deborah (Yanalavage) Fronheiser, wife of Ricky, and one daughter in law, Donna Yanalavage, widow of William; as well as five grandchildren: Michelle Parsons; Renee Hugar, wife of Aaron; Kevin Berkey, husband of Annette; Lesa Yanalavage; and Amy Yanalavage. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren: Kortney, Anthony, Dylan, Arron, Brayden, Graice, Taylor, Dayleeana, Haylee, Tyler, and Westley, as well as three sisters: Dolores Andrews, Bunny Pennypacker, and Cathy Goldsmith.

In addition to her parents and husband, Margaretta was predeceased by one son, William J. Yanalavage, Jr., one grandson, Baby Charlie, and nine brothers and sisters.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 4PM to 5PM at Christ Episcopal Church 316 E. High St. Pottstown, PA 19464. A memorial service will follow at 5PM

Inurnment will be private at a later date.
