Thelma L. Stauffer

Thelma L. (Schwager) Stauffer, 91, widow of Raymond R. Stauffer, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. Thelma resided with her daughter in Harleysville; she and Raymond formerly resided in Bechtelsville.

Born in Boyertown, PA, Thelma was the daughter of the late Charles F. Schwager and Edna K. (Moyer) Schwager.
Thelma and her husband devoted their lives to raising their six children. Thelma also worked for twenty-four years as a shipping and mailing clerk at Boyertown Publishing Company prior to her retirement.
Thelma was an assistant Den Mother when her son was younger, where she developed a love of crafting and painting. When she wasn’t busy caring for children or grandchildren, Thelma enjoyed tending her rose bushes and flower gardens. She also loved to bake and became quite good at decorating cakes. Her greatest love was being a devoted mom, grandma and great grandma.
Thelma was an active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bechtelsville. Thelma and her husband, Raymond, enjoyed road trips, bus trips, vacationing with family, going to casinos and playing cards with their siblings. Mostly, they enjoyed Sunday afternoons in the backyard or around the kitchen table with the whole family!
Thelma is survived by five daughters: Debbie Stauffer, wife of Carol Palmer; Sharon Kemp, wife of Terry; Patricia Brensinger, wife of William; Donna Day, widow of Timothy; and Dr. Lori Stauffer, wife of Brett Moyer. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren: Jillian Butters (Alejandro), Tammy Kemp, Rebecca Thomas (Scott), Chad Brensinger (Dana), Andrew Brensinger (Brooke), Erica McNertney (Brian), Avery Bandish (Jon), Maegan Harrison (Will), Ariel Hansley (Brian), Brandon Stauffer, Benjamin Moyer (Paige), and Samuel Moyer (Lexi); fifteen great grandchildren: Lily, Autumn, Abby, Ashton, Carly, Elijah, Owen, Brody, Lauryn, Laiken, Liam, Stephen, Maddie, Carolina, and Riley; and two brothers: Ronnie and Billy.
Thelma is predeceased by one son: Brian Stauffer; two granddaughters: Elizabeth Brensinger, and Suzanne Hoy (Mike); and six siblings: Arlice, Fay, Gloria, Doris, Frederick, and Lee.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from 10:30AM to 11:15AM at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church 1749 S. Main St. Bechtelsville, PA 19505. A funeral service will follow immediately at 11:15AM. Burial will be in Hill Church Cemetery in Boyertown.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Thelma’s name to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund at the above address.
